How to determine your own Ring Size
The best and most accurate way to measure a ring size is by visiting a local jeweler. Jewelers use a set of graduated rings and other specialized tools to determine ring size. If you live near Fort Myers, FL, you are welcome to come by for an appointment and we will measure your finger for you. Ring size can also be measured easily at home by any of the following ways:
Ring Template
You can find these templates on search portals. Download and print them to scale.
The application is very simple - take a ring that fits you or the person you want to give a gift. Now you can put the ring on the template and find out the right size.
Ring Measuring Tape
With a ring tape measure you can determine the size directly on your finger.
The measuring tape works very simply: pull the tape so tightly that it sits comfortably on your finger. Through the viewing window you can easily read the ring size directly.
Measurement by Ring’s Circumference
With this method you can determine your ring size even without a ring. The only things you need at home are a pencil, a ruler and a strip of paper.
In preparation, you should cut out a strip of paper about 3 to 4 inches long, which should be no more than 1 cm wide.
1. Wrap the strip lengthwise around the ring finger or the finger you want to buy the ring for. Make sure that the strip is not too loose.
2. Mark the end of the overlap with a straight line.
3. Measure the marked distance.
It is best to perform control measurements to compensate for measurement variations. Repeat steps 1 - 3 a few times and then find the mean value of all measurements.
